So now that you've followed our digital series to the conclusion and have planned yourself a great website, social media presence and email marketing strategy, the questions comes to mind - how do people find you? That's where SEO and advertising come in.

SEO is the activity of working monthly on a website to improve the ranking of it on search engines, ultimately with the goal of arriving at the top of the 1st page for a search term that's important to you.

Advertising involves several avenues, including Adwords, Google Display Network and 3rd party sites .

Mistakes that people make.
  • Thinking that SEO and PPC areseparatethings. SEO is a long-term driver of traffic, while PPC is a short-term system. Using both together has fantastic benefits in the long run.
  • Assuming that you can do SEO just once. We have many articles on this particular topic.
  • Believing that you can get to the top of the rankings in one month. Don't believe the spam emails you keep getting!
  • Not implementing an effective landing page or performing A/B testing.
  • Not considering new avenues, such as social media advertising.

How to fix this.
  • Budget for SEO and PPC together.
  • Plan for the long-term.
  • Decide on a strong message for one product, start from there and slowly introduce additional products in separate campaigns.
  • Involve an expert. SEO and PPC can get very technical - don't think you can do it yourself because you know how to use a computer. You'll end up wasting time and money.
