Digital Marketing Resolutions for 2015

As with 2014, the new year is likely to show a strong trend towards digital marketing avenues over traditional ones. This makes it more important than ever to understand, plan and implement campaigns and marketing across digital channels effectively. We've done some work for you and put together a quick list of things to focus on.

Content marketing. Driving traffic to a great website with great content is crucial to an effective digital strategy. Using avenues such as email, social media and blogs, both B2B and B2C companies can generate long-term sustained interest from potential clients.

Mobile. With the trend towards mobile email and web usage accelerating every day (especially in Africa), designing for mobile is extremely important. This huge 2014 trend is likely to become more important in 2015 with the expansion of smartphones and lessening usage of desktops.

Social media. While most companies know that social media is important, few understand how to use it. Social media is a long term game that focuses on image management. Good planning and continuing implementation is key to reaping the rewards.

Use visuals. Stats show that video and imagery is far more engaging for people, particularly in social channels. While good content is important, converting your content to graphics will help improve conversion rates.

KISS. The old idiom of keeping it simple (stupid) makes perfect sense in the digital age. With the constant bombardment of messages and media that we receive every day, standing out with simplicity will make it easy for people to understand you.
