Be More Awesome With Marginal Gains

If you're reading this magazine article, it's because we've employed an idea called marginal gains to get you interested. We use it on our website weekly, magazine articles, advertising, and pretty much anywhere we can. That's how we know it works.

So what is marginal gains? It's an idea developed by Team Great Britain's cycling manager David Brailsford in 2010. He employed the concept to successfully move the team from never really winning stuff to becoming one of the best cycling teams ever.

The main idea behind marginal gains is that if you make tiny incremental changes, no matter how small they are, these changes combine for a large change over time. For example, if you send out a magazine article every week, and move the call-to-actions every edition, you can analyse the data to determine the best possible position.

There's a lot more to the idea, so you should really read our full article.
